militancy the language of militancy has fallen out of favor in progressive politics, and for good reason, macho militarism is reactionary as hell, but there is a certain clarity that a militant outlook has, the word "strategy" is no longer a metaphor, the basic objective becomes clear:
Attack The Enemy
The Houthis for example just get this, attack the ships, disrupt the supply lines, it makes perfect sense. Liberal, reformers and other profoundly governable types, they can't have this, what would gene sharp tell the Houthis? Should they non-violently petition the ships to not supply Israel? Deeply unseriousness.

@craignicol it's amazing how they brag all the time about how targeted their strikes are, but somehow specifically bomb UN peacekeepers, Humanitarian Aide Workers, Mosques, Hospitals, Churches. I mean they are just fucking with us. They can kill whoever the fuck they want. They know we know they're lying, it doesn't matter

uspol voting, intra anarchist shit talking Election day is one of the few times the majority of people take any kind of concrete political action. You can say this is symptomatic of a society where the majority are completely alienated from the political process, but why would you discourage people from voting when it takes maybe a few hours every few years? Who benefits? Why expend energy doing that? There's no way you could possibly compete with multi billion dollar electoral campaigns. And In a country where almost half of eligible voters don't vote anyway, what difference does it make if you persuade a handful of people not to vote? What will marginally increasing voter apathy in an apathetic ass country accomplish?

My position, which is equally absurd, is that i don't tell anyone to vote or who to vote for, nor would I discourage anyone to do so. YOU figure it out, do what
you think is right, weight the options etc You choose. It's seriously not my problem or responsibility what other people choose to do with their vote because I have absolutely no control over it.

The converse of that is, who the fuck are you to tell
me what to do? Oh i'm now reponsible for genocide if i vote for Harris, i got news for you bub, we're all responsible for this shit, don't act like not voting absolves you in any way from being complicit in the death machine, do you think if people don't vote for Harris the genocide will stop? or is it just about moral superiority tokens? Some of ya'll took that George Carlin routine way too literally.

So I've decided to endorse Harris to comedically annoy everyone kolektiva. Also, In Florida there are constitutional amendments to enshrine abortion rights and fully legalize marijuana, that's obviously an improvement, lmao other states have other things on the ballot that make an objective difference in people's lives, like whether fundamentalist whackjobs take control of school-boards, or whether some guy who wants to put all homeless Also, people in camps gets on the city council. Seems there are perfectly valid reasons to vote that aren't even related to the federal governnet

Like it really isn't a big deal people can just vote or not, chill out

but i do understand liberals are annoying as fuck and you're mostly reacting to the totalitarian election hell we're all living through, and it's all good, love ya'll

re: ableist language, self-justifying guilt trip backflip @witix no,

No I'm a being a
useless idiot ๐Ÿ˜’

it's true, i'm a hypocrite. I am guilty, yes.

The post is directed at myself, I am screaming into the mirror

what i hoped to do with this provocative approach is to
trigger encourage self reflection, that we need to stop having pointless arguments, let's at least have more fruitful arguments, share we? I also wouldn't make an absolute rule about being divisive or insulting i mean when it comes to issues like trans rights, or the genocide in gaza we should fight those who try to brush it under the rug or enable or justify oppression and brutality and that's a messy emotional process, but we should also be more compassionate and forgiving when it comes to other oppressed peoples and learn to tolerate principled disagreements. I try to be good faith on here most of the time, who have i insulted? sorry about that

i know i shouldn't use words like
stupid it's not even a think, you can be very "intelligent" ( how do you even measure that ? ) but also wrong, act in harmful ways etc. but this is like avante guard performance art that means i can do whatever the fuck i want so โ€‹:ablobfoxexplode:โ€‹

@yogthos so yeah you asked for the links lol, i don't think i have extreme confidence, i'm not claiming to be an expert and there's plenty i don't know, but seems pretty obvious there is a large bourgeoisie in china, and whatever latent socialist character the Chinese system might have, the bourgeoisie seem to very much in control of the state and are the primary benefactors of the current developmentalist regime

some reading resources on china @yogthos @Arindam

Rethinking Socialism, What is Socialist Transition? by
Deng-Yuan Hsu & Pao-yu Ching,
PDF

other honorable mentions

Brewer's
Marxist Theories of Imperialism: A Critical Survey PDF

:
Mao's China and After: A History of the People's Republic by Maurice Meisner, basically the standard english language history of PRC's founding, critically sympathetic. Also, Red Star over China by Edgar Snow, not objective at all but great read.

The Documentary Series
China a Century of Revolution is really incredible, it certainly has bias and omissions, but is loaded with interviews with people who lived through the revolution and GDPR and beautiful archival footage and i can't imagine someone watching this and not coming away with a deep love and admiration for the chinese people Part 1 1911-1949 Part 2 1949 - 1976 Part 3 1979-1994

some reading resources on china @yogthos @Arindam

As to what sources are reliable a rule of thumb I look at two criteria: 1.The quality of the research they do: Are they drawing from a variety primary texts and reliable statistics? etc. and 2. What are their political biases and interests? do they have principled and coherent analysis? or are they bourgeois propagandists of some kind?

Academic Texts on China

here's some books i'd recommend

Chinese workers: A New History by Jackie Sheehan, history of labour struggles in PRC from 50's to the 90's link to Download Page

Cultural Revolution At the Margins: Chinese Socialism in Crisis, history of post cultural revolution changes that led to the rise of Deng and market reforms link to Download Page

The Transformation of Chinese Socialism by Lin Chun, good history up to 2000 or so, they are basically reformists in chinese context link to z-lib - need login

"Rethinking โ€˜Capitalist Restorationโ€™ in China" by Yiching Wu, essay dealing with this question of china's socialist character, i think Monthly Review are trots
full essay

Some leftist blogs about China

Chuang - they're basically
the anarchist line of china
Red Dust - the transition to capitalism in China

The capitalist transformation of rural China: Evidence from โ€œAgrarian Change in Contemporary China"

Chinese Worker Bulletin - just a really cool resource we should emulate
english link

Gongchao, good resources on the Chinese left broadly
english link

Other Marxist / Maoist texts

Communist Party of China Maoist published a document called "China: A Modern Social-Imperialist Power: An Integral Part of the Capitalist-Imperialist System" you can guess what that's about
โ€‹:ablobfoxexplode:โ€‹ other Communist Parties (Maoist) in Asia like in Nepal and the Philippines basically have the same line

*In the Emergence of the New-Imperialist
Countries* tract by these German Maoists that deals in part with china and other countries like India and Brazil that call "new Imperialist states"
PDF

"Is China an Imperialist Country? Considerations and Evidence"
By N. B. Turner, marxist leninist
PDF

out of room but yeah the fact anarchists, trots and maoists all come to similar conclusions is interesting
