@Lichen it might end up being cheaper to get an old thinkpad instead. they have a reputation for being reliable. @0x4d6165 helped me get linux on my computer. I have it set up to dual boot windows and linux cuz I need windows for proprietary GIS software, but I think it would be even easier to set up with just Linux. I'm using Pop OS for my linux distro. I had to try a few different ones to find one that was compatible with my computer's wifi antenna (an absurd issue imo but yeah, i got mint debian and another one set up just to find that it wouldnt recognize my wifi).

@Lichen yea absolutely! Would love to bike w you sometime too. Iām a lil held back though because my bike is effectively a one speed (derailleur broke and itās a 70s bike, they make different derailleurs now/local bike store couldnāt fix it, so I can only change gear by changing the chain placement by hand)
@Lichen I feel this. I recently learned to clean and lubricate my chain using wd40 after it got all rusty from the rain. it feels good to be empowered to fix/maintain :) I wish we had something like the Santa Cruz Bike Church/Biciglesia around here. bikechurch.santacruzhub.org They're really wonderful for empowering folks to fix their own bikes using their resources (sliding scale too!)
