@Lichen I feel this. I recently learned to clean and lubricate my chain using wd40 after it got all rusty from the rain. it feels good to be empowered to fix/maintain :) I wish we had something like the Santa Cruz Bike Church/Biciglesia around here. bikechurch.santacruzhub.org They're really wonderful for empowering folks to fix their own bikes using their resources (sliding scale too!)
