this is an important video, and the comments under it just prove the point. in summary: there are reactionary weirdos in online lefty spaces who use Palestine, "the global south", etc as a shield to hide behind and virtue signal with while they push conspiracy stuff and harass women and queer ppl. Some of these weirdos are cynical jaded class reductionist types, and some portion I believe to be like 4chan nazis posing as the former. for example, someone responded to my comment on the video who had the username "skinheadsocialist" so like,, I think its obvious what's going on there. but if you try to call out any of this, they'll just say homina homina western liberal

I appreciated the critical look at Russel Barkley, who is a psychologist who's been focused on ADHD for decades. I've found Russel Barkley's youtube videos to be affirming and actionable, but there's some political baggage that's worth unpacking

@FrazzledBrynn you might try bergamot essential oil or isolated linalyl acetate. Bergamot is the thing that makes black tea into earl grey. And while bergamot EO is made up of like a hundred different compounds, linalyl acetate is the one that is most characteristic of what's unique about it. @keeya that makes sense yeah. I also don't rly like reading on a screen bc eye strain and idk hard to focus on it. I've been paying for naturalreaders TTS subscription for years for this reason. I would prefer not to support a company that brands itself as an AI company, but it rly is the only TTS thing I've found that has decent voices and user interface. I mostly use this for getting thru my readings for school tho. if ima read a book cover to cover in my free time i will def go for a physical copy

@0x4d6165 fuck my whole comment i just wrote got deleted. anyway i know you already know this but i think it merits saying cuz its a thought i have every time i hear this thing about parents should be responsible for controlling what kids see not the gov: parents should be thoughtful but not absolutely in control of everything their kid gets introduced to. parents can obviously overdo this, even with positive intent. definitely i think its better that parents do this on their own than enforce it on all minors. but like we gotta also address how individual parents can censor their kids access to important information, or even useless garbage information, or even porn, in a way that sets those kids up for other bad situations. we have such a media literacy crisis. kids (and adults, lmao) desperately need modern internet literacy classes. fuck. i hope u get what im getting at here tho: yes its a parents responsibility to moderate media/internet access but that can be its own problem

@keeya I highkey love plants that grow in concrete. If you (a plant) can swing it, its great cuz there's not that much competition from other plants. unfortunately in my area its usually knotweed. I did see a tomato growing in the sidewalk once lol
