was thinking about this the other day: how bird song is not considered real language or communication because it's repetitive, but there's obviously a reason birds are making all that noise, maybe there is some syntax in the subtle variations of those repetitive patterns we don't pick up on that communicate more complex information
like greeks called everyone else "babarians" because they thought they talked like this "babababa"
