This only applies to "Chinese" as in "Chinese (Simplified)" / "Chinese (Traditional)", "Chinese" in the context of "They speak Chinese" that is a whole separate ranttldr imo the concept of "Chinese" as a single language/culture is imperialist propaganda, and is being actively used to homogenize the diverse languages and cultures within China
