I brought my desktop over and it's currently on a very cursed windows install

(QUERY ... or I could install linux but I'm not sure which distro I'd use:
- debian, arch, KDE neon, linux mint: boring
- fedora, openSUSE: I've never tried it before, but why should I
- ubuntu: how dare you
- gentoo, nix: I want to actually use my computer, thank you very much
- void: I'm too familiar with systemd and its package repo is quite small iirc
- BSDs: I'd like to game on this thing, sorry

for context I'm using debian on my server and it's... fine? but boring, and I'm familiar everything in the boring list

also I need desktop environment recommendations:
- GNOME: I mean, it has a... unique aesthetic
- KDE: boring
- LXDE, XFCE: They look old
- Tiling WMs: pretty cool when they work, confusing as hell when they don't; also they rarely come with task bars and stuff I expect
- EXWM: I actually did use it for a while but no thanks
