The funny thing about this account theoretically being just for one facet of our plurality is when you’re unsure if that facet actually exists anymore or if xey were subsumed into another newer facet…you start having to think what to do with said account…
Business Continuity Plan but the buisness is being an extremely gay plural system
@0x4d6165 Thinking about the customer we had at my work who every single time she comes in (since we first reopened after lockdown) she would tug her mask off to talk to us then put it back on after >>
Parenting is conceptually really tough. I know i’m a stable, competent parent, but I still struggle with the feeling that I have only been a girl for a few years, I’m not experienced enough in the world as the person I actually am to be able to take care of another human. Let alone the parts of me that don’t feel human. How am I supposed to teach this little creature what it means to be human and love and live in this world when I barely know how myself sometimes?
Kim Stanley Robinson, Ian M. Banks, and Neil Gaiman are three authors whose work really speaks to me in interesting ways that present the future as something positive and attainable (if complex, filled with challenges and both pain and joy), and it’s funny that they all are also authors i have no desire to binge. I want to pace out reading their stuff so I have more nuggets of their perspective to experience throughout my life.
(whereas most other authors i love, Tamora Pierce, Terry Pratchett, David & Leigh Eddings, Aaron Allston, etc. I just want to biiiiinge and read all their stuff whenever i start reading any of it again!)
re: reading Surface Detail by Iain M. Banks@Vierkantor Exactly!!! They’re as close to the queer not-entirely-human sci fi that I love as they can get being written by a cishet (as far as i know!) guy. And they meant so so much to my pre-trans self. But yes!! The fanfic really helps :3
housing and politicsSomeday, perhaps, I’ll own a home instead of forever renting. And it’s deeply depressing that the way that will most likely happen is through luck and privilege, when I want it to happen through us tearing down inequality!!
Trying to radicalize my coworkers by explaining the fucked effects of investment firms buying up housing stock (also the fucked effects of landlords existing)
