ok, i figured it out. Iceshrimp doesn't just show a person's post, if it's a reply it also shows what they're replying to. So if someone is doing a chain of posts, you see duplicates constantly because it'll be New Post > Post you Just Read.
Wonder if there's any way to turn that off? my brain finds it disjointed
huh. My timeline feels waaaaay busier and active here than on my Mastodon based account, even though it's basically the same set of folks i'm following. Not sure if that's just a vibes-based feeling or if that's actually the case...
