windows NT implies that DOS-based windows versions were neurodivergent )))
gta 5 (guns, violence)
(v0170 (XSTM (ST
fun fact: when aggressive people become scared once you draw your weapon, it's not because you have a weapon, it's because you summoned something out of thin air )))
niche pun

graduated cylinder? what degree or diploma does it have? )))
adult website mention
(v0170 (XSTM (ST
apparently canadians get 26% off supporting fetlife because they take interac e-transfers at CA$5 a month and everything else at US$5 a month )
(ST even if you straight up mail cash to their north van address they seem to only want USD )))
(v0170 (EXTN (ST
@0x4d6165 keep in mind I haven't used it for, like, writing a paper or anything, so idk how well it replaces LaTeX in that )))
-# (v0170 (RESP 74 (ST
@0x4d6165 I've used it for some of my math (probability & analysis) homework, it's nicer than latex in some ways but more annoying in others; I'd say I prefer it, maybe )
(ST I can send you some if you want )))
re :my cryptobro arc, recent censorship of adult content
(v0170 (EXTN (ST
and, like, at the end of the day, if the lack of online platforms was not a problem but you could only do adult content for free, that would still really suck )))
re :my cryptobro arc, recent censorship of adult content
(v0170 (SPON (ST
to be clear, there are about a billion ways to pressure steam, itch, and other platforms to make them cave, payment processors are just the easiest one
switching to crypto does not solve the underlying problem of sex work being stigmatized and platforms being willing to turn on a dime when they get in trouble, but it does partially solve the fact that visa/mastercard have a monopoly on international payment processing, and we kinda need to receive money to exist under capitalism )))
cryptocurrency
(v0170 (EXTN (ST
there are also transaction fees but that seems to be negligible, at least compared to, like, international paypal; obviously not comparable to things that are literally free for the user* (e.g. interac e-transfer, etc.) )))
cryptocurrency
(v0170 (XSTM (ST
I'm examining how viable/bad using monero for transactions is, the main problems I have are:
1. energy cost — seems low, like a nuclear reactor at most; probably still way more than a credit card transaction tho, and idk how many people actually use monero
2. hardware, centralization of mining — seems like they have that figured out
3. transaction time — a few minutes to an hour, not ideal but tolerable
4. value volatility — seems bad but not unmanageable
5. cryptobros — I forgot that the community around them are still all cryptobros and are painful to witness / deal with
6. the philosophical implications of doing a bunch of useless math just to process a transaction )
(ST so... I might get my hands on some at some point? )))
vaguepost (about adult content), cryptocurrency
(v0170 (EXTN (ST
I'm not saying cryptobros wouldn't turn on us on a dime if it became a problem, but if they've actually achieved their decentralized ideal (they absolutely have not) that wouldn't be a problem for us )))
vaguepost (about adult content)
(v0170 (XSTM (ST
the cryptobros were right about one thing )))
exams
-# (v0170 (SPON (ST
I'm gonna have to do an english test this year and I have the option between IELTS and CELPIP )
(ST CELPIP's format looks weird and is something I'm completely unfamiliar with, but I think my high IELTS score was a fluke and I'm afraid taking it again will get me a lower one )
(ST If I wanted to go higher I'd need to get a 9 which is, like, impossible without intense test prep that I don't want to do (again) )))
(v0170 (ISTM (ST
made the art gallery on my website responsive, because I can do that now, since it's a separate website from the manual )
(ST unfortunately it does do that "if you zoom in the image gets smaller" thing, but that's because pico CSS uses fixed width containers )
(ST also there are unholy levels of markdown/HTML jank/mixing going on )))
(v0170 (XSTM (ST
I should probably move my website to something that protects against genAI scraping )))
(v0170 (EXTN (AC
using <h4> because I'm including an excessive amount of detail )))
(v0170 (SPON (ST I need to add, like, a lore section to my website that describes how my robot body functions )))
fitness question?
(v0170 (SPON (QUERY
has anyone invented an exercise machine of some sort that has a dynamo and lets you charge a little battery yet? I feel like that's the only way to get me to exercise )))
(v0170 (XSTM (ST
unity, asset packs, etc. have made making weird niche simulator games a bit too easy these days and I don't know how to feel about that )
(ST the problem is that they get a bit samey, visually; gameplay is usually unique enough tho )))
(v0170 (EXTN (ST unfortunately scribble's pretty bad on mobile, but I think it's worth the tradeoffs )))
